L’Ostal Rosé

IGP Pays d’Oc

A pale rosé with a beautiful freshness

Since 2011, L’Ostal Rosé is made from equal quantities of Grenache (50%) and Syrah (50%) grown on the coolest terroirs of the Domaine and the Pays d’Oc region.

In order to obtain its beautiful pale pink colour, the grapes are pressed immediately at low temperatures in order to reduce the extraction of phenolic and colouring compounds. All juices are racked before being fermented at a low temperature in order to preserve their full aromatic and quality potential.

L’Ostal Rosé reveals a frank, very pale rosé color with silvery reflections. Its nose is intense, very fruity with small tart berries aromas and exotic notes (orange, passion), quite rare. On the palate, the rosé unveils a beautiful freshness with good acidity. The explosion of aromas, well balanced, keeps the gourmet character of the wine.

A very pleasant rosé with lot of freshness, a pleasure wine.

Vintages

The mild and rainy end to the year 2021 allowed the soil to be replenished with water. Then, the first quarter of 2022 is drier with temperatures within seasonal norms. This mildness continues in spring until April 23, when an episode of hail slightly impacts the westernmost part of our vineyard.

Regular rains until June ensured a good vegetative start for the vine and good water reserves for the summer.

The 2021 summer is remarkable for its heat records, with 5 months with 2 to 3°C higher above normal, but the vines are showing good adaptation and resilience.

The harvest took place in very good conditions from the end of August.
